Hey girls! Londoner here! (Well I'm a Frenchie but I've been calling London my home for 3 years now

I didn't have time to go through the whole topic but I see some mentions of London and moving there for work/studies. I moved there after my Baccalauréat to start University (from which I'm graduating in a few weeks now, aaah!!) so if anybody has questions on a specific matter you can always ask me! I also work part-time so I know a trick or two about looking for a job here

I need your help
For my fanfiction about Harry Potter I've been searching the meaning of "Kneazle" (un fléreur) but I found nothing ! Maybe it's because it's too obvious in english ? I think "fléreur" is a very good name in french for this creature because the spelling mistake is typical for a medieval word. But, I have no clue about the quality of the translation because I don't know wich "etymology" Kneazle has.
If better english speakers than me could give me a hand with this, it would be very nice

Maybe that a short presentation would help, I already introduced me in French here but an English one won't do any harm.
I am 18, I am about to enter my second year of CPGE (my English teacher said there were no equivalent in the Anglo-Saxon system). Basically it is two years during which I study mainly maths and physics but I also have compulsory classes of philosophy, English, chemistry, IT and maybe sport. During these two years I am preparing competitive exams (=concours) to enroll in an engineering School.
My studies take away a lot of my time but I hope it'll get better when I'll be in engineering School. In fact I'm not as dedicated as I should and a search for something work-related often ends up on madmoizelle
I hope that from now on I'll end up on madmoizelle practising my English

I am discouraged not only by the huge amount of cards (I have done it before
) but also by the fact that Anki is time-consuming and it doesn't seem to be paying off.
How do you try to get better in English (or anything you're studying for that matter) ?

@Valentina- J'ai l'impression que tu veux un peu trop coller au français, n'hésite pas à "simplifier" tes phrases ou en tout cas à éviter les tournures un peu compliquées. Est-ce que tu peux donner un peu plus de contexte aux phrases que tu veux traduire? Spontanément, je dirais "a striking subject" mais ça va dépendre du reste de la phrase.
